Assalamualaikum Warahamathulahi Wabarakatuhu
Suicide has become very popular today. Mankind i.e.., we humans take this decision for each and every single matter. This could be due to failure in examination, loosing one’s ambition or dream, due to the death of loved ones, due to unbearable pain (i.e.., certain diseases) etc.. And there are certain people, who hurt themselves due to some problems that arise in their life. Okay, so let me ask a question. What rights do you have on your body? Have you created your body? Have you breathed life into your body? Have you created your soul? Oh my dear brother and sisters, of course the answer is no. Then how dare could we destroy the property of our ALLAH ? Our body is a blessing of the Almighty. You take this sort of decisions because ALLAH ha blessed you with the ability think and decide. This is how you show your gratitude towards Him?
Always remember “From ALLAH we come and to ALLAH we return” and this return is in his hands. Your life is nothing, but just a test dear brothers and sisters. This whole world is a examination hall and each of us are writing our exams. We cannot hurry-up to finish the exam to leave the examination hall before time. We should have patience and write the exam well. That has to be our ultimate goal. ALLAH never tests us with more than our ability to bear. So, we have the ability to bear it with patience. Then why do we still opt the suicide attempt or committing? It’s because we have no fear of ALLAH the most-powerful. It’s because we don’t understand that this world is just a place of test for us. It’s because we don’t have adequate knowledge. It’s because we have deviated from the path of ALLAH.
ALLAH the Al-Khaliq (The creator) says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer): but those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely find themselves in Hell – humiliation!” [ Surah Al-Mu’min, Ayath-60]
In this verse ALLAH Our Creator orders us to call on to him through prayer. And He would surely answer us, and would lessen the burden of our heart. We have our ALLAH, then why do we choose the shaytaans path i.e.., suicide attempt or commit ? The one who hurts themselves has to answer ALLAH, for it on the Day of Judgment. And the one who kills himself would not enter paradise. Just Remember this.
ALLAH the Most-merciful says:” O you who believe! Eat not up your property- among yourself in vanities: but let there be amongst you traffic and trade by mutual good-will: nor kill (or destroy) yourself: for verily ALLAH has been to you Most-merciful” [ Surah An-Nisa, Ayath 29]
The above verse, clearly stated that Suicide is strictly forbidden in by ALLAH. And Suicide is the Shaytaans way of dragging oneself to hell-fire. The fate of such people (the one who committed suicide) would be that, they would keep on killing themselves in hell-fire, the same way they killed themselves in Dunya (earth). Do you want this fate? Of course no, then why do you even think about suicide dear brothers and sisters.
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radhiallahu’Anhu): The Prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu’Alayhiwassalam) said, “He who commits suicide by throttling shall keep on throttling himself in the Hell Fire (forever) and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hell-Fire.” [ Sahih Bukhari, Book 23, Vol 2, Hadith #446]
What change is your suicide going to make in your life or to your problems. Just think over this, is it going to bring back your loved ones or is it going to re-arrange your life. No, instead it’s going to drag you to hell and will cause pain, tears and loss to your family. This worldly life is temporary. Just face your problems bravely and boldly because you may not have anything but you have ALLAH the All-Knowing, he would reward you immensely for your patience. Don’t sit and cry to your friends or family, they won’t solve your problem. Instead just run towards ALLAH, raise your hands and call out to ALLAH and cry as much as you want. Surely, He will answer you. Whenever you feel like ending-up your life say these words,
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un” – because ALLAH says: “Who say, when afflicted by calamity: “ To ALLAH we belong, and to Him is our return: – they are those on whom (descend) blessings of ALLAH, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.” [ Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayath 156-157]
So, whenever you feel depressed just say these words, and ALLAH will surely bestow his mercy and blessing on you. Lets’ all bear with patience and restrain from committing and attempting suicide. ALHAMDHULILLAH. May ALLAH guide us all to the path of Jannah. Ameen Ya Rabb!!!
