Assalamualaikum Warahmathulahi Wabarakatuhu
In Islam both men & women are equal and they both hold equal status. And now arises a question, then why women have to bear more pain than men? The pain and sufferings of a women begins from the day of her maturity (i.e.., from her tender age of 12/ 14). She has to undergo those abdominal spasms and pains in various parts of her body every month. After marriage she has to bear the child in her womb for about 10 months with all those sleepless nights and swollen legs and hands, still she is the one who has to take care of her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, children and house chores. Most of all, being a women she has to bear the immense pain i.e.., the labor pain while giving birth. And then has to take care of her child and must raise them up. Women has to be a wife, maid, teacher, cleaner, doctor, nurse, driver etc.., the list just runs, she has to work 24hrs without even sleep just for her families health and happiness.
This brings the question, why women have to bear more pain than men? It’s women, who has to do house chores day and night, even if she’s not well. And women has to undergo through these pains till her last breath. Why is it so? The answer is very simple.
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (Radhiallahu’Anhu) and Abu Huraira ( Radhiallahu’Anhu): “ The Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu’Alayhiwassalam) said, “No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that.” [Sahih Bukhari, Chapter #70, Vol #7, Hadith #545]
This hadith beautifully, shows how much a women would be rewarded for each and every pain she feels. And ALLAH the Most-loving provides his believing women with immense reward for bearing the labor pain. Alhamdhulillah. She is rewarded in hereafter for each and every pain she bears in this world.
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri ( Radhiallahu’Anhu):” Once Allah’s Apostle ( Salallahu’Alayhiwassalam) went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o `Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, “O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women).” [Sahih Bukhari, Chapter #6, Vol#1, Hadith #301]
The above hadith is another reason why ALLAH the Most-merciful provides women with more pain than men. So, Whatever ALLAH the Almighty gives is a blessing, which might be difficult but if we bear it with patience, the reward would be immense. Why women have to bear more pain than men? is answered. It’s to save women from hell-fire and give them immense reward in hereafter.
