Assalamualaikum Warahaamathulahi Wabarakatuhu
The first Mankind ALLAH Our Creator, created was Adam (Alayhiwassalam) out of clay and he is the first Prophet. And the second Mankind is Hawwa (Alayhiwassalam). And from them came the whole race of Mankind. And they are mentioned as our Father and Mother in Qura’an, where we can clearly see that ALLAH says, “O son of Adam” in many of the verses. And here comes the story of the First Murder Among Men. ALLAH the Almighty blessed Hawwa (Alayhiwassalam) to give birth 20 times. And in each birth she was blessed with one boy and one girl i.e.., she gave birth to twins all the 20 times and each and everyone baby looked different in it’s appearance, that’s the reason why no men are same and each one varies in color and shape. Adam (Alayhiwassalam) is called as Prophet because, he remained his children about the happenings of Paradise and the greatness and power of ALLAH. This evidently proves that he was send by ALLAH the most-merciful to teach and preach Islam on earth.
Among the children of Adam (Alayhiwassalam) there where the two eldest son Habil and Qabil. ALLAH the Almighty ordered Adam (Alayhiwassalam) to arrange marriage for them both. And this would be one of the cause of the First Murder Among Men. The marriage rule was totally different, no men can marry his twin sister i.e.., marriage ties cannot happen between the twin boy and girl, who formed and grew in the womb of Hawwa (Alayhiwassalam) at the same time i.e.., Womb brother and sister. Qabil and Habil were totally different in looks. Qabil was not good looking, whereas Habil was very handsome. And the twin sister of Qabil was very beautiful (even though Qabil and his sis where from the same womb), whereas the sister of Habil was not beautiful (even though Habil and his sister where from the same womb). And when ALLAH order arrived, Adam (Alayhiwassalam) instructed Qabil to marry the womb sister of Habil. And Habil to marry the womb sister of Qabil. The term appearance, affected their minds. Qabil when he looked at the womb sister of Habil, he refused to marry her as she was not beautiful enough and when he looked at his own womb sister and thought of marrying her himself. With this idea, Qabil approached his Father Adam (Alayhiwassalam).
This made Adam (Alayhiwassalam) upset and he explained them but, their dispute continued and Adam (Alayhiwassalam) made a Dua to ALLAH to which ALLAH the All-hearing responded, and asked both of them to give a charity from their produce. As at those times there where no poor, the charitable food would be placed in a hill top and if it gets burned, it means the charity is accepted and vise versa. And Qabil was a farmer and Habil was shepherd. The charity of Habil was accepted whereas the one of Qabil was not, because the produce (animal) of Habil was fresh and good, and that of Qabil was of rotten stage, this shows the mere reason. Seeing this, shaytaan created envy and jealousy in the mind of Qabil towards his brother Habil. And decided to kill Habil, where Habil said, “ALLAH will accept the charity of one who is conscious of Him and If you try to kill me, I won’t fight you back because I fear ALLAH the Lord of the Worlds”.
And shaytaan taught Qabil to kill (murder) Habil. And as result he hit Habil with a hard material, due to which Habil was dead. Once, his brother is dead, he sits near him and regrets for a while and returns back to his work. When Adam (Alayhiwassalam) asks him about his brother, he hides the truth and goes off. Which brings a doubt in the mind of Adam (Alayhiwassalam). After that again Qabil went and saw the dead body and regretted, as a lesson ALLAH the most-merciful sent two crows, which dig a hole to burry the other. Seeing this Qabil dug and buried his brother. Due to remorse, he went far away from Adam (Alayhiwassalam). This is the First Murder Among Men.
ALLAH the Almighty says to Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam): And recite to them the story of Adam’s two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], “I will surely kill you.” Said [the former], “Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. If you should raise your hand against me to kill me – I shall not raise my hand against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah , Lord of the worlds. Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers.” And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, “O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?” And he became of the regretful. [ Surah Al-Ma’idah, Ayath 27-31]. This story shows that, shaytaan taught men violence, and he is behind every anger, jealousy, envy, temptation etc. May ALLAH guide us all. Ameen Ya Rabb!
