Assalamualaikum Warahamathulahi Wabarakatuhu

Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) was next to Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq (Radhiallahu Anhu) among the companions of Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam). Truth slips out of his mouth as normal words, without difficultly.

“Aysha (Radhiallahu Anha) saw some youths passing by and they were swaying in their walk. She asked her companions: ‘Who are they?’ They replied: ‘These are al-Nussaak (ascetics).’ She (Radhiallahu Anha) said: ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattaab (Radhiallahu Anhu) when he walked, he was quick; when he spoke, he was heard; if he hit (someone), it would hurt; if he ate, he would eat till satisfaction; and indeed he was a true devout person.’” — [Madaarij al-Saalikeen (1/517)]

Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) was 29yr old, when Prophet Rasulullah received the Prophet-hood. Umar (Radhiallahu Anhu) was a tallest man. Wherever he would be, his head would be visible. As mentioned in the above hadith, he was well built and if he walks he would was quick, and if he speaks he would certainly be heard, if he hits someone, they would be hurt badly, and he was very devoted person in the path of ALLAH (Subhana’Wathala). Even though he has these qualities Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) had a very companionate and merciful heart, due to which his eye would weep easily. The father of Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) is Khattan bin Nubbayl. Khattan bin Nubbayl was a very harsh man, in turn Umar (Radhiallahu Anhu) was brought up harshly, which gave him these characters. He was one of the strongest enemy of Islam belonging to Quraysh. And none of the Muslims thought that this tough enemy of Islam would become a Muslim and would help in spreading Islam. One day, all the non-Muslims where discussing about killing Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam) and there were asking, who would volunteer it. And Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) said he would volunteer it and walked to kill Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam).

While on his way, he met a man who was secretly following Islam and he tried to divert the mind of Umar (Radhiallahu Anhu) and at last he informed that Umar’s own sister Fatima and her husband Sa’id Bin Zaid were following Islam secretly. Hearing this Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) walked to his sisters house, when he stood at the door he heard her sister reciting the Qur’an. They were taught Qur’an by Khabbab Ibn Arat. When they got to know, that it was Umar (Radhiallahu Anhu) at the door, Fatima hid the scroll under her thigh and Sa’id Bin Zaid went  to open the door. Once he entered he asked about the sound and questioned them Whether they have accepted Islam? Sa’id Bin Zaid replied positively, which angered Umar (Radhiallahu Anhu) and he hit Sa’id Bin Zaid and sat on him. Fatima ran towards Umar to stop and he hit his sister in her face, and she fell off and began to bleed. Fatima cried out loud saying.” You enemy of ALLAH. You hit me because I believe in ALLAH. And she pronounced the Shahatha (I testify there is no God but ALLAH and Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam) is the messenger of ALLAH.” When Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) heard this and saw the bleeding he regretted for his action and moved away form her. Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) asked for the scroll of Qur’an and promised he would return it back. When Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) got the scroll he recited it. And questioned “Is this what Quraysh is against? and accepted that the one who had spoken these words has to be worshipped.

Then Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) walked to Darul Arkam, to meet the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam. When he went he was caught by Hamza (Radhiallahu Anhu) and was taken to the Prophet. Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam) took hold of his cloth and asked his why did he come here? And to which Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) replied that he came here for no other reason except that he is believing in ALLAH and in his messenger Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam). Hearing this Rasulullah said Takbir and everyone began to say Takbir and the whole place was to be heard everywhere. And in this way Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) accepted Islam and started his journey through Islam. He doesn’t want to keep Islam hidden and doesn’t want to spread Islam secretly. It was Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) who said Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhiwassalam) to spread Islam publicly as truth must be spread among all.

After which Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) defeated many non-believers and he even took over Baithul Muqathis (Al-aqsa) defeating Jerusalem. He even conquered Rome, Europe etc., which where the powerful nations. Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radhiallahu Anhu) is called as the conquer of the world.
